The Larry Goins Filthy Riches course is not an easy course to review, but our own study of the course has resulted in a major caveat, as detailed in the COMMENTS section below.
BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU RATING: The BBB has recently upgraded THE GOINS GROUP an "A" rating, so we applaud them on finally addressing the complaints. Good job, Mr. Goins!
COMMENTS: In reviewing Larry Goins Filthy Riches course, we have a serious problem with the methodology. Much of it seems to involve buying and selling real estate on the Internet, even on eBay. We, ourselves, have been investing in real estate for over 40 years and in our opinion nothing - we repeat, NOTHING could be more dangerous to your financial security.
Every savvy real estate investor will tell you that "long distance investing" is very risky, for a number of reasons. In the 50's and '60's, thousands of people were victimized with magazine ads selling Florida Real Estate that turned out to be swamp. Again with desert in the southwest. And now with "40 acre ranchland" in Wyoming, which has no water access.
When you buy online, or on eBay, you are buying a "pig in a poke" - if you cannot actually visit the property, you cannot know everything you need to know. For all you know, the home that looks OK on the outside might actually be condemned. Or has other problems not visible online, such as being landlocked, or restricted. We know one person who purchased a property online only to discover they could not resell it because the government had it under a protective order for an endangered species. You could OWN it, but you could not USE it. So it was not saleable.
All in all, we do not believe this course is worthy of our consideration. But if you get your adrenalin rush from taking risks, perhaps it's just right for you.

"I received an email from Larry Goins who, in turn for making a $1 donation to charity, would provide various real estate information for free. In the signup for the real estate info there is a screen that gives a 30 day trial subscription to the Ultimate Investors Report. I received this report in the mail on or about Dec 26 well after signing up for this. After reading it, I decided that it was not a professionally written publication and certainly not worth $30/mo. Less than 30 days after the receipt of the publication, I sent an email to Larry Goins cancel. They told me that they billed my credit card on the 9th, 30 days after I signed up electronically--not 30 days from the receipt of the publication.
"Using the guise of charity to bilk consumers for worthless subscriptions is not only highly suspect of the perpetrator, but also gives pause to ever doing business with such an organization. I returned the 2nd issue unopened back to the Larry Goins Group and would like to warn others of their business practices. My complaint to my credit card company was rejected, and I was stuck paying for a "newsletter" designed to advertise an upcoming event that I had no interest in attending. BEWARE!"
